I provide counseling services for adults, couples, and groups, and vary my treatment approach to best suit the client. I lean toward a Humanistic, Existential style of treatment. Every client is special and unique, and I work collaboratively with clients to determine the therapeutic approach which can provide the best results for them in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and substance abuse.
Common goals of treatment are:
to improve relationship skills and conflict resolution
to directly and effectively express emotions
to discover and change self-defeating patterns and blocks
to learn about the unconscious reasons for behaviors
to stabilize feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, and grief, and learn coping tools to reduce reactivity
to decrease emotional distress related to traumatic thoughts, feelings, and images
to increase confidence and self esteem
